Prior to running the Extended Evaluation program at EDCO, I was the Educational Coordinator for a year before the organization was restructured. Since then, I have been the Extended Evaluation Coordinator at EDCO for the last four years. I run the substantially separate 45-day class and work closely with sending districts in order to provide ongoing support, academically and emotionally, for students who they refer. I review and set up intake meetings with prospective students and families as well as sending districts. As part of the Extended Evaluation, we have a midpoint meeting to discuss the progress of the student, emotionally, academically, and socially. I remain in constant contact with the family and district to provide updates on how their student/child is doing while participating in the program. At the end of their time in the program, we have a final meeting where a written assessment is presented to the parents and districts identifying accommodations and recommendations needed for the student to succeed academically and socially.
