I was hired via phone, then sent a link to complete online training. I worked 1 day in another office with another Associate Team Leader so she could train me. She was too busy running her office to train me. I pretty much trained myself by looking up my responsibilities. I used Block Academy as well as other H&R Block training material to teach myself how to perform the daily functions of my job. I have worked as an office manger in previous employment, as well as many years managing food service establishments. I took pride in how well I was able to teach myself to be a great Team Leader for the Tax Pros in my office. I wanted to come back next tax season, and had planned on taking the H&R Block tax course. Until I saw that you have to pay $175 plus course materials to take the course. Even if your a current employee, and even after passing the course. That does not guarantee that you will be hired by H&R Block. I enjoyed this job and am sad that the employment was seasonal. I will be looking into getting tax certified so that I can apply next tax season at some tax preparation business.
