For the past sixteen years, I have worked for numerous principals and assistant principals, all with different personalities and expectations. While I know these aren’t “Chiefs” or “Executive level members,” they definitely still qualify as a superior who is just as important. Every one of these principals has/had expectations of teachers that are either shared or implied. For every principal, I have had to be responsible for lesson plans, students, grading, parent communication, etc. without them standing over me to make sure I got things done. Principals do not need to micromanage teachers because we work very well on our own. We complete lessons, projects, deadlines, etc. without being reminded because we know what is expected. I have been on several committees and completed several projects in each school that I have worked for throughout my teaching career. For example, I was very involved in the Teacher/Administrator Support and Growth Task team. On this team, I and a small group of teachers and administrators put together an evaluation process to be implemented throughout the entire district, and this process still stands today. On this committee, we were put into small groups, each assigned with a specific task to research and present. For my group, I was involved with creating procedures and tools to be used in teacher observations. We came up with an evaluation process that adhered to government standards and included support for teacher growth, clear targets and expectations, and a self-reflection for teacher improvement regardless of probationary or non-probationary status. As an experienced education professional, I have earned a reputation for tackling and completing any project with enthusiasm to realize important student-learning goals.As a highly-motivated person with tremendous energy, my goal is to secure a position with broader responsibilities where I can apply my experience and knowledge to work.If I could have a superpower would be shape-shifting. I enjoy handling a variety of tasks and I can multi-task and change to new roles. I am also adaptable and easily embrace new challenges and responsibilities.
