CurrentWild Seed Project builds awareness of the vital importance of native plants and provides all people with the tools to restore biodiversity in their own communities. We equip community members, public officials and municipalities, and land-holding individuals and organizations – from farmers to land trusts – with the skills and resources they need to collectively repopulate landscapes with native plants that expand wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and build climate resilience.While at WSP I have:Led all aspects of our growing organization’s operations, finance, programming, fundraising, and strategic initiatives as chief executive officer. Catalyzed exponential growth of WSP’s financial and programmatic capacity over three years: increased annual budget from $268,000 to $1,090,000; expanded staff from 3.5 to 10.5 FTE; grew membership from 700 to over 2,000 households.Spearheaded diversified development strategy as primary fundraiser: designed and implemented capital campaign for new Native Seed Center.Created a people-focused organizational culture where WSP’s staff of 11 have the space to bring their individual skills to the table and collaborate towards shared goals. Supporting individual staff growth through intentional opportunities for team members to push themselves, making room to fail and learn from mistakes. Designed and implemented a collaborative budgeting process that centers staff ownership of their work and the financial impact of their efforts. Recruited and cultivated both short- and long-term partnerships with businesses, schools, municipalities, governmental agencies, libraries, land trusts, and other nonprofits. Set strategic direction for organization, in partnership with Board, and led staff team in bringing that vision to life. Transformed organization’s priorities and practices through the implementation of a decolonization and climate justice lens.
