Responsible and accountable for the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts with customers and business partners under the guidance and direction of When I Work’s executive management team.As When I Work's first in-house counsel, I am responsible for the development and on-going review of relevant processes, guidelines, and procedures relating to When I Work’s contracting practices. Responsibilities included: • Draft and negotiate contracts related to software licensing (inbound and outbound, on premise deployment, hosted software, and SaaS), professional services, international partners, subcontractors, and a variety of vendors (marketing, real estate, hardware) • Effectively perform negotiations (face-to-face or via telephone) with end-user customers, partners, and vendors. • Manage two direct reports and liaise with outside counsel. • Work with Finance on matters related to corporate compliance and revenue recognition; work with Marketing on trademark filings and proper use; work with HR on employment matters and company policies; provide counsel to other departments and divisions with HighJump.I served as the company’s first and sole in-house legal resource (1999-2004).
