I previously worked at Harbor House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. I worked a long-term care rehabilitation unit, as well as an orthopedic short-term rehabilitation unit. At Epoch Senior Healthcare, I was the primary nurse full-time for up to 19 sub-acute patients. I worked closely with patients and their families in facilitating care with the goal of returning home and to other health care facilities. I processed patient admissions and discharges, daily documentation, and direct patient assessment. I gained experience in assessment of patients experiencing chemical withdrawal. More specifically the care of patient’s experiencing seizures, hypertension, tachycardia, tremors, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, headaches, and body aches. I worked closely with the physician to medicate and treat patients appropriately. I provided education to patients regarding risks of chemical dependency and other disease processes.
