Obtained input and collaboration from host country agencies, including governmental institutions, non-profits and local community leaders and members. - Implemented the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system to track PCV performance. Conducted data compilation and analysis to prepare a yearly project status report for headquarters.- Participated in site development process by visiting, evaluating, identifying and making recommendations for future volunteer sites.- Designed and budgeted $40,000 a year, to implement a 27 month training continuum for volunteers and counterparts. - Coordinated a multi-sectorial nutrition-based project of $8,000 with the local health center and municipality where 92 mothers were trained on proper nutrition, hygiene, and early childhood stimulation, 492 children were tested and treated for parasitic infections and anemia, and high protein food basket were provided each month to 100 children. Taught health professionals, health promoters, municipal workers, and preschool teachers district wide about the causes, consequences and means to prevent chronic malnutrition.- Initiated and supported a recycling program in 3 schools, where the schools were able to sell the material and have a regular income to support school activities and events. - Formed 10 youth health promoters (PEPs) in assertiveness, self-esteem, the adolescent stage of development, leadership, sex and gender, adolescent pregnancy, relationships, and general sexual health. Accompanied these youth as they trained 270 peers in the same themes.
