I specialize in designing and managing public and multi-stakeholder engagement processes that support climate action, community sustainability, and systems change.Every day, I get to work with a fantastic team of people with deep expertise in climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience, land use planning, Indigenous reconciliation, leadership and coaching, deep energy retrofits, climate communications theory, government relations, energy and emissions modelling, fundraising, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and low carbon transportation networks. We collaborate on strategies to support bold climate action in local, regional, and Indigenous communities. My role is to design effective ways to have conversations on complex topics, bringing people with diverse backgrounds and experiences together to figure out how we can create more equitable, resilient, and sustainable low carbon communities. I’ve worked in the academic, nonprofit, and private sector on community sustainability since 2005. I’ve learned that underneath the most successful sustainable community plans you’ll find deep, trusting relationships and strong social networks that move idealistic strategies from the inside of a report to practical actions on the ground. Working on climate is messy, daunting, complex, and frustrating, yet it’s also hopeful and inspiring to work with others who are digging deep to find a way forward.
