Do you ever feel like you’re an equal mix of scientific and creative? I do. And not just because I managed living in a house with no plumbing, heating or floors.I’m a graphic/web designer recently turned User Experience + User Interface Designer and I am passionate about creating beautiful, functional design that is backed by research and strategy. My experience co-founding a small web development agency enhanced my forward thinking, curiosity filled, roll-up-your sleeves attitude, and afforded my understanding of both the creative and business side of the job. I have seen first hand the importance of strong, fluid communication, the positive effects of research and planning, as well the effects on business when clear goals are established and met.I have worked on dozens of projects for small to mid-sized clients- assessing needs, creating proposals, producing wireframes, moodboards and pixel precise UI designs, as well as acting as a liaison between clients and developers where needed. In addition, graphic design projects (logos, branding materials, advertisements, tee-shirt design) have kept me engaged in the print world and helped support client brands. I even worked on brochures written in Vietnamese for a while! (That was a challenge!)Recently, I took a hiatus from the business and turned my attention to Project Management, Research and Design on an unfinished river property in Central Minnesota. The plan was to leave the city, and live in it while we finished it, which we did…but that’s a whole other story.I am currently working on a the UI for a fitness App, and the back-end UX/UI for POS-CMS product.
