Profile bio

About Andrea Cassagnes-Maxi

I have many years of clinical experience in individual therapy and family counseling implementing an eclectic approach. I studied Family Therapy and Addiction Counseling with a concentration on Trauma Focus- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at New York University. I have trained in Modern Psychodynamic Theory at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy in New York City. As a doctoral student at Yeshiva University, I joined the Aging and Welfare Lab with Dr. Rain Lee in the project for Climate and Authentic Behavior Related Factors to Intention to Leave in Child Welfare Agencies and helped analyze the theoretical framework on turnover rate and authentic behavior. Although my clinical experience has marked me in many different ways, I believe in my potential to complete research projects related to Latina emotional well-being, maternal mental health, and its impact on child attachment, bonding, and growth in their first year of life. Additionally, my focus includes measuring and understanding patient-provider interactions and how culture shapes the therapeutic relationship.

Listed skills include Mental Health, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Clinical Research, and 23 others.
