As a Swedish immigrant I am fortunate enough to have lived in multiple continents and as a result being exposed to many historical sites, many of which involving crime. Throughout my life I have been fascinated with anything criminal justice related and by proxy I have become a casual and academic student of crime, culture, and the merging of the two. Currently I have a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology. Both of these academic endeavors have allowed me gain a keen understanding of the physical aspects of crime (criminalistics, crime scene procedure, etc.) as well as the cultural and historic aspects (social/cultural factors, crime history, etc.). My foremost goal is to garner as much knowledge regarding the solving of crime, factors that cause crime, and future methods of prevent it, as possible in one lifetime. I believe history will continue to expose the flaws that, to this day, impact investigations, research studies, and the public perception of crime; essentially formulating the puzzle pieces will allow modern academics and law enforcement professionals to proceed with higher efficiency and with less adverse social impacts. I have a 3.2 GPA in my Anthropology degree, a 3.4 GPA in my criminal justice degree, and throughout my education I have studied and written essays on the sociocultural factors that allow cults to exist and function, Anthropological analyses of modern crime trends such as mass shooters, ethical issues (racial bias, efficacy of the death penalty, confirmation bias/tunnel vision in investigations, etc.) that plague investigations, and analyses of crime trends/statistics. I have made the Dean's list at UNT and I am in the process of acquiring experience in the handling of human remains, assisting crime scene technicians, and pursuing a Criminology graduate program. I am also highly interested in working as a dispatcher, a research assistant, and other more entry level positions. One of the highlights of my educational career was having the privilege of studying under professors such as Dr. Gill King, a forensic anthropologist who worked on the Murrah bombing and countless other cold case murders all while directing a forensic anthropology laboratory. Other professors such as Jamie Johnson, Robert Wall, and Peggy Jobolowski have enriched my knowledge regarding forensics, criminal law, and anthropological/criminological theory.
