CurrentAndreas Silcher is a partner in the London office with more than 15 years of experience in maritime law.Andreas advises on a range of commercial shipping activities, with a focus on non-contentious shipping and offshore oil and gas matters, from shipbuilding, ship conversion and ship sale and purchase, to offshore construction, financing and related issues. His extensive multi-jurisdictional experience in the negotiation of shareholder and joint venture agreements includes the USA, Greece, Cayman Islands and Hong Kong.Prior to joining Haynes and Boone, Andreas spent two years acting as General Counsel for a large privately owned shipping company. During this time, he gained particular experience in the acquisition, financing and operation of LNG and LPG carriers through joint ventures. Andreas also spent nine years at Curtis Davis Garrard LLP (now Haynes and Boone, LLP) where he focused on all areas of non-contentious shipping and offshore work.Andreas acts for shipowners, offshore energy companies, shipyards and investors and has been involved in a number of high-value, multi-jurisdictional transactions with the aim of minimizing risk for his clients.Fluent in Greek, German and Spanish, he regularly advises foreign clients in their native language. Andreas is a dually qualified English solicitor and German Rechtsanwalt.
