Using my experience, I work as an advisor / mentor for the companies within Vitec Software Group. Assignments vary from mentoring CPOs, help develop new product and business strategies and assist / guide major projects.

Recruited as head of development for Vitec Estate Agents Norway. Working in an agile and fast-paced environment the development team was faced with the need to maintain two previously competing windows-based applications while developing both a web based replacement and a rest-based two-way graph API. - Implemented a new SaaS product strategy and roadmap to stay on top of a rapidly changing market - Reorganized two departments into one, introduced new agile workflow and tools resulting in higher efficiency and on-time deliveries - Led sales meetings/presentations with customers and partners - Department size 15-20 persons including group managers located in two countries

In 2010 Vitec bought Capitex and I was challenged with getting two previously competing development organizations (Capitex and Vitec Mäklarsystem) to work together towards a common goal. - Reduced cost and risk by consolidating a large number of applications and functions - Streamlined the department, raising efficiency and focus on our new products - Department size ~30 persons in two locations including two group managers

Managed the development department of Capitex from 2003. Added management for the IT department to my role in 2007. The IT department was responsible for both internal IT as well as hosting hundreds of public web sites of which some had very high availability and performance demands. - Reorganized the development department into teams with a clear focus on different business areas and one service team delivering core components to the other teams. This resulted in higher throughput and better quality. - Changed the IT department from home-brewed reaction-based operations to well-run operations with redundancy, monitoring, SLA offerings and ahead planning. - Department size varied from 10 to 35 persons with several team leaders.

Developed and sold small programs when an idea surfaced and there was time to spare. Biggest hit was a mobile game called Little Indians, a mix between Lemmings and Lost Vikings. Sold worldwide through telecom operators. This was prior to the world of app stores.

Employed as a senior system developer I took full part in the process of creating a system/application, all the way from specifying the demands along with the customer, developing and implementation. Systems developed were for example a sales support and booking system online for an international investment advice agency and a log file analysis system. The log analysis system had a query language similar to SQL written in flex / bison.Worked mostly with Linux, Perl, MySql, Oracle and PostgreSQL.

In 1998, I co-founded an Internet consulting company, Capitex Konsult. The focus of the company was designing and programming advanced high-performance web sites. To accomplish this, we further developed our own script engine (also used for creating BoVision) and added a feature-rich wysiwyg editor for online content editing, allowing for easy and fast information update on the web. When I started with the company my contact with customers increased drastically. I often worked as technical lead and/or project leader on major projects.Technologies used: C, C++, HTML, CSS,. Started out as a programmer writing applications for banks, insurance companies and real estate brokers. Main application development tools were Visual Basic and MS Visual C++. Wrote a program for Access database synchronizing, using modems.I received a promotion a few months later to System Developer, charged with program management, designing and programming Internet applications as well as helping other programmers solve problems.Additionally I had the opportunity to develop two major Interactive Internet sites using Microsoft Visual C++ and MS SQL Server.
