I am a Transport Technical Director and Leader of the Bridges and Structures Group in Perth, with more than 40 years experience in transport and bridge infrastructure in Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa. I have worked closely with Clients on major projects leading teams through concept development, design and construction of civil and transport infrastructure. My experience includes bridges and embedded structures to mitigate disruption to road or rail operations in urban areas, to bridge difficult river and environmentally sensitive sites, and the inspection, assessment, strengthening and upgrading of bridges and structures. My past experience in concept and detailed design of urban infrastructure has given me a deep appreciation, understanding and knowledge of the inter-relationships of transport modes, and the effect transport structures have on the efficient flow and road user experience in a CBD environment.I have specialist technical knowledge and experience with designs for difficult sites using technically challenging construction techniques such as cast in situ segmental cantilever construction and incremental launching of bridge decks, jacking of bridges and underpasses, and precast segmental construction and top-down construction of embedded tunnel structures, including Independent Verification and D&C tender designs.I am the author and co-author of 18 technical papers dealing with bridge engineering presented at national and international conferences of Austroads, ICE, FIP and IABSE. During 1990 and 1992 I undertook study tours in Europe and Texas (USA) to witness large scale cantilever and precast segmental box-girder construction using external prestress technology, and have maintained a keen interest and study of this design and construction methodology
Listed skills include Bridge Engineering, Structural Engineering, Segmental Cantilever Construction, Incremental Launching And Jacking Of Structures, and 9 others.
