As Head of Mindworx Academy, I led the establishment and growth of an innovative data and digital skills development program addressing South Africa's critical skills shortage. In 2.5 years, we launched five successful 12-month programs, partnered with global consulting firms and corporate leaders, and filled nearly 100 junior analyst roles. The Academy was profitable from year one, with continued growth. Our social impact was significant, with 63% of analysts securing permanent employment and 73% of those promoted within two years. I led initiatives for major clients like Cadbury-Kraft, Barclays Absa, and various universities. Programme Manager – Basel Pillar II & III projectsAs programme manager I led a senior team in the implementation of a number of Basel II projects. This was a high level change programme with projects focusing on Capital Management (Interest Rate Risk, Material Risk, Governance and Control) and also all Regulatory and Integrated Risk reporting. These required the management of change for a governance and technology implementation, with stakeholder engagement and alignment on an executive level, working regularly with the global CEO, CFO and Head of Risk. It was a global project implementing in all the Investec locations, working with a global team with a project sponsor based in London. During this period I regularly lectured and facilitated sessions on leadership, management and personal leadership for both the University of Johannesburg and WITS on various programmes.

This involved leading the design and implementation of value propositions for all the segments, and the management of a team of business planning consultants. Business Planning is ultimately responsible in providing guidance on the unit’s budgetary targets and the impact of pricing. Any new business or change projects initiated by the unit, were supported by business cases developed by Business Planning.Innovation & Change Consultant (Aug 2003 till October 2004) Responsible for the design and implementation of an innovation approach, system and large scale transformation of 44 Business units and 31,000 employees. Stakeholder management and communication of all department heads. Also acting as Innovation Consultant for different business units, seeding and developing innovative ideas.

As a senior consultant in the Strategy and Operations competency for Deloitte Consulting, I was involved in a wide variety of projects in various industries. My main focus was on project management roles in the financial services industry or e-business competency. I was quite involved in firm activities such as the new-hire programme and mentoring vacation students. I was awarded the top rating for consultants after my first year there.

As product manager for NetBank Internet Banking, Nedcor's e-banking solution, I was responsible for the complete product management of this channel. This gave me a wealth of experience in e-business strategy formulation, product management, customer relationship management in financial systems, internet technologies and broad information technology management. In doing a major software rewrite on the channel, my skills in project management were continually tested. In this role I was responsible for the product health, product development, marketing and research of the product and strategic planning for next three years, including product plans, marketing plans, release planning, prioritising and budget forecasting.

United Kingdom

My first job in consulting saw me working in the process competency on a large re-engineering project in the telecommunications industry. This involved analysing incoming data, compiling knowledge network design and retrieval processes and planning and coordinating of ten project sites across UK. This also involved the preparation of client presentations and assistance to the project manager with the planning and budgeting for implementation.
