Hello! 👋 👩🏻‍💻 I’m Andrea, a UX designer currently attending the University of California, Davis. I’ve been passionate about studying UX design since 2022, and plan to continue building my experience.🤝 My experience consists of a variety of leadership roles, most notably, my role in Orange Coast College’s UX Design Club as a Project Manager. Joining this club was my first exposure to the world of UX design, and I learned fundamental technical skills such as prototyping with Figma and user testing. I was quickly promoted from a regular attendee to a Project Manager, and I continued to pass these skills along to new members.🏆 I have also participated in the Giles T. Brown Research Symposium, in which my partner and I created a UX case study/prototype for a web application called "StudySesh" that aids both neurodivergent and neurotypical students who may have difficulties motivating themselves to study or complete tasks. We presented our case study and placed 2nd in the Oral Presentation category. 🚀 As an effort to diversify my team building skills, I joined the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) Program. Throughout the three missions, I worked with several other students from different disciplines (CS, Engineering, etc.) to create a successful rover presentation projects. I was responsible for creating a public outreach and marketing plan, team organization, and leading our final presentation.🎨 My role as a student assistant in the Orange Coast College Visual and Performing Arts Division has exposed me to a variety of different skills. I have been a gallery attendant for the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion, assisting visitors in a kind and informative fashion. I performed administrative work in the Division Office, handling budgets, and faculty/student matters. I was also a Teacher’s Assistant (TA) for my printmaking professor, Katherine Sheehan. As a TA, I was able to guide students through certain printmaking tasks, while helping maintain the studio.
