Current- Sourcing images for the Royal Society of Chemistry’s monthly flagship magazine, Chemistry World, as well as for its bimonthly chemistry education magazine, Education in Chemistry, for print and digital reproduction
- Undertaking picture research by licensing images from image libraries or finding relevant contacts to obtain appropriate imagery
- Commissioning editorial illustration and photography worldwide for a range of articles and in a variety of styles, writing comprehensive briefs, art directing the execution of the artwork and ensuring the timely.
- Producing work in-house, ranging from bespoke photography to putting together creative artwork from individual stock elements and art directing design-led features
- Finding creative visual solutions for difficult conceptual or highly abstract covers and articles and providing science specific knowledge when needed
- Clearing copyright to allow the reproduction of all images and negotiating competitive fees in accordance with the available budget
