At the present time I am a Boeing 787/8/9 Training and Checking Captain for Norwegian Airlines, which has had one of the most diverse and rewarding networks and was the winner of multiple Skytrax World’s Best Low-Cost, Long Haul Airline.After graduating with Honors in Aviation and Flight Technology from Canada’s premier College, Seneca, my career began with remote operations in Canada’s rugged Northern Territories. A few years later I obtained my EASA license and began flying in Europe on the Saab 340B, Saab 2000 and Boeing 737 aircraft. Operations included a wide variety of challenges from small airports with limited facilities in Romania and the Ukraine to the biggest and busiest airports in Western Europe and the Middle East. In order to take my career to the next level, in 2006 I completed a TRI Core Course with CTC Aviation Group in the United Kingdom and later a CRM Instructor course with Global Air Training and was part of the Training Department for both Carpat Air and Blue Air for more than five years. I have particularly enjoyed teaching Cockpit Procedures, Performance and Recurrent CRM Courses. In 2010 I joined Shenzhen Airlines as a Direct Entry Captain on the B737NG, where I flew over 3000 hours throughout China and most of South East Asia. It was a fantastic experience and highly rewarding to overcome difficulties with the language and culture barrier as well as flying with the metric system while dealing with some of the most severe and rapidly changing weather!In December 2014 I returned to Europe, based in London for Norwegian Long Haul on the B787 as a Relief Captain, fully qualified PIC rating while operating from either seat on line. I then upgraded to Captain and I am very proud that in a short time afterwards I was able to go back to what I enjoy most in aviation, training! For more then two years now, I have been Line Training and Checking on one of the most modern wide body aircraft, while operating into some of the world’s biggest, busiest and most complex airports.
