André Rifaut is senior project manager at the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology - LIST (Luxemburg) of projects in the domain of Security Management and Operational Risk Management in Financial Institutions. André Rifaut has been working at the Philips Research Centre, at the University of Namur (Belgium), at the Centre of Excellence in Information and Communication Technologies (CETIC, Charleroi, Belgium) and has also an industrial experience acquired during projects performed in private companies. He has an expertise in business critical systems where safety, reliability, security and operational risks aspects are the gist of the methods adapted to those systems. He participated into a number of National and European scientific projects and is the author of published papers for conferences and journals and book chapters.His latest scientific contributions address the domain of:* business process improvement,* operational risk management, and* business process compliance management.Currently, his research interest concerns * Measurement-based Modelling which uses the very recent techniques defined by the Measurement Theory for an increasing the objectivity of models.* agent-based simulation for strengthening the predictive social sciences models used for improving business processes.During the nineties, André Rifaut has also spend nearly ten years in a non-profit humanitarian organization. Through his grass-roots presence and involvement, André Rifaut supported families living in extreme poverty.
