About Andres Castillo

Currently pursuing a Doctorate degree at Purdue University with a focus in Optimization for Distributed Machine Learning as well as Reinforcement Learning. I also hold both a Master’s and Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University with a focus on Digital Signal and Image Processing. My main areas of interest are in research and development in the realm of efficient algorithms that allow for enhanced performance for learning algorithms. My training in electrical engineering along with several research projects I contributed to in the communications and image analysis fields has given me a heightened and diverse set of experiences and skills. I have also developed competence in working collectively and communicating effectively in various settings including engineering teams, student organizations, and foreign environments abroad. I hope to foster the growth of electrical engineering and catalyze its translation to our daily endeavors through innovation. On the side, I’m passionate about photography and hiking. With these hobbies, not only can I constantly cultivate my creative nature, but I can also find opportunities to apply what I have learned for a better change.
