Street Inc. is a full service creative multi-media agency for small business and non-profit entities. Our goal is to develop conscious community based media that provokes critical dialogue around relevant community issues. In order to accomplish this mission I have developed organizing campaigns around open street events, urban planning, community development, and the growing bicycle movement

Duties include convening community stakeholders to ensure the LA Bike Plan is implemented correctly in the streets of South and Southeast LA. Will also engage stakeholders on streetscaping and community oriented developments plans along transit corridors. Have also initiated a coalition around transforming vacant lots in the city with community oriented pop up events called Free Lots Angeles.

Four-month contract to organize tenant support at Rolland Curtis Gardens for a planning process regarding an affordable housing transit oriented development between T.R.U.S.T. South LA and Abode Communities. Responsibilities include identification and development of tenant leaders that can be active leaders in the planning project. I also developed a community conscious safety plan for the building engaging tenants to become active participants in their community’s safety. I also provided organizing training for new T.R.U.S.T. South LA staff.

Serve as a tenant organizer in the South Los Angeles community. Responsibilities include identification and development of tenant leaders that can participate and lead campaigns addressing tenant rights, displacement, as well as health and human rights. I also run the weekly tenant clinic program in house at SAJE as well as at St Johns Well Child and Family Center, in which tenants dealing with eviction, habitability issues, and foreclosures get oriented on how to navigate the city of Los Angeles Housing Department, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. Also represent the organization at coalition spaces such as the Healthy Neighborhoods Same Neighbors Collaborative, Right to Housing Collective, Call to Action, and CicLAvia South LA Host committee. I also help to organize yearly events such as SAJE Holiday Marketplace, SAJE Member Holiday Party, and general fundraising events.

Served as youth/parent organizer in the South Los Angeles community. Led high school organizing committees at Locke, Fremont, Jordan, and Crenshaw High Schools. Assisted the youth in the collection of over 6,000 surveys collected in South LA high schools. Provided guidance and political education for youth group, South Central Youth Empowered thru Action (SCYEA). Developed curriculum for 8-week Summer Leadership Academy for SCYEA. Provided guidance and mentorship for SCYEA’s Leadership Council, which was SCYEA’s leadership voice and lead strategists. Helped to organize community support for the creation of the Architecture Construction and Engineering Academy (ACE) at Locke High School. ACE provides a combination of academic and vocational instruction. Helped to organize a Job Fair at Locke High School to promote the ACE Academy.
