My current role involves the collection and distribution of packages to clients, mostly for the agricultural and health industry all over the UK and Europe. My work role means I have to meet specific timed deliveries for my customers and this often requires me to be very flexible in my working hours to make sure my deliveries arrive on time. I have been called out at various times in the night/weekends to meet a specific customer’s need. A large percentage my deliveries are of an extremely… Show more My current role involves the collection and distribution of packages to clients, mostly for the agricultural and health industry all over the UK and Europe. My work role means I have to meet specific timed deliveries for my customers and this often requires me to be very flexible in my working hours to make sure my deliveries arrive on time. I have been called out at various times in the night/weekends to meet a specific customer’s need. A large percentage my deliveries are of an extremely confidential nature for my clients, delivering packages to laboratories and hospitals. I am fully aware of the trust and responsibility placed on myself with customer sensitive deliveries which often has included tenders worth several million pounds. I have often gone past the remit of my job to make sure that my customer has peace of mind that their delivery has been completed. One recent case involved me changing a broken part of a ticket machine, the only one at the station, with the clients help via telephone I refitted the broken part, for which I received a Commendation from the company for going beyond the call of duty, sparing the client embarrassment due to the technician failure. I often undertake extremely urgent travel Visa applications and wait several hours while the embassy approves the Visa. These visas are to allow the customer to travel to places such as Mumbai, Beijing and Moscow. This is because we have excellent reputation of delivering on time and going the extra mile for our customers.I always keep my clients informed on the progress of their delivery, this is usually the role my dispatcher but, I feel the personal touch is more important than an automated response by e-mail as many clients are concerned that time sensitive deliveries. Throughout my day I keep in contact with my dispatcher for updates on delivery times and to pass back information on completed deliveries.I find my job rewarding seeing a satisfied customer. My role involved collecting clients from Manchester Airport and taking them to the company's office to collect the vehicle that they had reserved, taking payment and dealing with any enquiries or problems that may arise. Most of the clientele were international, mostly from the United States, I always ensured I went the extra mile to ensure the customer was satisfied with their vehicle.
