I was appointed by Gustavo Dudamel to the position of Principal Horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in May 2011 and I am the Horn Professor of the Colburn School ConservatoryI have been privileged to perform as John Williams Principal Horn for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi as well as The BFG and The PostIn 2015 I was the Co-host of the International Horn Symposium held in Los Angeles at the Colburn School. IHS LA 2015 presented performances in venues all over Los Angeles, including The Hollywood Bowl, the Los Angeles Theater, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Grand Performances and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We welcomed over 700 Horn enthusiasts and 1000 total musicians to LA and successfully balanced a $500,000 budget for the 7 day event, attracting the world's best horninsts from the Berlin Philharmonic, Los Angles Philharmonic and San Francisco Symphony as well as international soloists and pedagogues. In addition to programming events, masterclasses and performances, my co-host Annie Bosler and I developed projects with the LA Phil and Grand Performances, facilitated commissions and world premieres, realized a concert bringing together 50 of LA's finest Studio Horn players, arranged visa and travel preparations for overseas artists and negotiated artist contracts. IHS LA 2015 was the largest gathering of Horn players in history and balanced the largest budget ever created for an event of this kindI have appeared as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería, Mainly Mozart Festival, Berliner Symphoniker, Melbourne Symphony, Queensland Symphony, the Colorado Music Festival, and Monash University’s Music in the Round. I have also performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Chicago and Dallas Symphonies to name just a few. I can be heard on the soundtracks of over 100 recordings and films, including Frozen, Minions, Creed, The Good Dinosaur, Happy Feet, Godzilla, Cars 3 and Fernando.
