Responsible for managing the investment research function at Saunderson House. The role included ongoing assessment of the investment function, risk management and enhancements to the proposition, presenting investment strategy changes to the Saunderson House Board, investment managers, financial advisers and clients, and leadership of the team of analysts. Key areas of focus were strategic and tactical asset allocation, and portfolio construction.

Role involved carrying out macroeconomic and financial market research, determining investment strategies, presenting investment views to the firm's relationship managers, clients, prospects and the press. Overseeing fund research and coaching the team's investment research analysts.

Role involved analysing investment funds credit, macroeconomic data and market fundamentals. Responsible for UK equity (until 2012) and sterling credit investment strategies, finding the appropriate funds to implement those strategies and building fund portfolios to suit clients' needs. Trained investment research analysts within the team.

Analysed UK equity, sterling credit and UK commercial property funds and made recommendations to the Investment Committee for their inclusion on / removal from the recommended list.

Advised 30 clients with assets totalling c£100m on asset allocation and fund selection.

Supported financial planners in advising clients on their portfolios and studied towards financial planning qualifications.
