Currently lead three squads, totaling 20 software engineers, SDETs, and scrum leads. One squad funded as an operating expense, two squads capitalized, half of all workers sourced from contract firms. Full-stack Ruby developer – MVC web applications, middleware, client interfaces and single-page applications. Member of a highly capable team of three software engineers and three system administrators to operationally support the national architecture of application servers for television-related metadata referred to as Merlin. The Merlin architecture is the de facto provider of media-related metadata to products including the X1 platform, Twitter SeeIt, TV Everywhere products like XFINITY TV and TV Go, and more. Specialized in the technical integration of development groups, external to the organization as well as external to the company, to facilitate their use of the Merlin product. Identified development opportunities and implemented solutions that applied to the domains of: provisioning, deployment, configuration management, monitoring, alerting, performance, analysis, backup, and effective team communications.

Arranged project dependencies, scheduled, coordinated and oversaw test environment build-out and testing of interconnected set top box guide and back-office software components with an agile method. Specialized in Advanced Native STB products, with focuses on ITV/ETV, digital video services distribution (MPEG-TS sourcing, grooming), profiled and addressable ad insertion (DPI, splicing), Audience Research and Measurement (ARM), as well as federal compliance regarding closed captioning encoding. Mentored and led teams of five test engineers. Planned, coordinated and communicated testing efforts with upstream and downstream partners including vendor, development, enterprise project management, and market operations organizations. Performed root-cause-analysis and provide expert-tier support for software faults and system misconfigurations. Conducted ad hoc and structured training sessions on widely varied topics on the broadband infrastructure at large.

Installed, configured, maintained, diagnosed faults of national, distributed server architecture for Tru2Way and Advanced Native products (TVWorks Connect (TM) Servers). Grew knowledge to include all aspects of Comcast Video product systems. Instituted conventions and policies to better communicate and conduct testing in a lab environment that was shared amongst several testing groups.

Contributed to the development of an embedded product. Began work with project by maintaining the DOS-based solution. Ported code onto a GNU/Linux platform, yielding improved stability and performance. Implemented more features in the more extensible environment. Another project involved the design, installation, and maintenance over time of a virtualized application server infrastructure for a clustered JBoss web application. Also created and maintained a software development environment for eight developers and database administrators - software revision control, project management and documentation portal, ticket and defect tracking system.

Contracted via The Franklin Group. Prototype research evaluating the use of rapid ink jet technology for carton printing. Configured, maintained, and optimized system components, specialized microscopy equipment, as well as the computers integrated within them. Development experience, broad-based science background, mechanical understanding and dexterous ability were in high demand to routinely solve problems, create evaluation tools and analyze results. Used MATLAB, Minitab, and Adobe graphical design software in a scientific capacity to create software tools, design and conduct experiments, collect and mathematically analyze data, draw conclusions from results.

Designed analog and digital circuits for test equipment independently. Circuits included extensions for remote control and automation via LabVIEW, COM and the TCL scripting language. Conducted mathematical and software analyses. Documented software for embedded processors in products and test equipment designs. Performed qualification testing for aircraft engine sensor and parameter monitoring software on embedded processors.

Secure Wireless Agent-based Testbed (S.W.A.T) - Conducted government-related research in Ad Hoc networking on wireless handheld computers. Developed and maintained TCP/IP routing protocols implemented in C on Linux platform embedded systems. Gave weekly presentations of ongoing work and ensuing efforts. Collaborated with other researchers in pursuit of publications.

Met with customers to review job objectives. Trained and supervised staff of three to five installers on site. Installed and configured industrial-grade high-speed digital networking equipment and high-reliability power. Maintained progress reports as per Verizon specifications, met periodically with Operations Supervisors to review project.
