As of mid 2013 was made team leader in order to represent and develop the core hardware, mechatronic and control development function for the Vinten Radamec and sister brands. My contribution is in the servo and transmission development and specification of the over-all system design.We run Agile & Scrum development methods.2016: Developed the control and associated production methods for a new mass market device to go into production during 2017.2017: Developed code in order to silently drive BLDC motors using the ARM Cortex M4. Developed the transmissions, encoders and associated kit for a new generation of premium devices.

W.T Atkin produced a range of bespoke and small batch equipment for factories. We automated many complex sheet metal operations. Equipment included pick and place, machining or forming operations, shaping and complex handling. Equipment lines were often turn-key and many meters long with many interwoven operations. I was responsible for the day to day running of the design function, proof of concept design work and cost of sales estimation with a particular responsibility for generating the required kinematics and translating that into motors and other moving parts. Trouble shooting during the final build and root cause analysis to improve our robust design function. Development of design software and tools - particularly parametric options for design re-use, when 3D CAD was still in development.
