About Andrew Colson

I am a Birmingham, AL native who loves his community. I strongly believe in the power of a unified community to make progressive changes for a society as a whole. I also believe in the power of interpersonal relations, where a community unifies based on true bonds between individuals. I am very dedicated to the betterment of education as well as the elimination of poverty in our country.As a Higher Education Professional at UAB, I am responsible for leading a staff that recruits a wide variety of students, mentoring those students throughout the college application and enrollment process, and maintaining strong relationships between the university and the surrounding community. It is through this work that I hope to set a precedent of UAB being a leader in education as well as community service.
