Throughout my life, I have found that I have God-given ability in two distinct areas, technology and writing. Both of these areas have been hobbies of mine from a very young age. As I have grown up, these hobbies have turned into professional goals. While some might see these two paths as contradictory, I have found that these two parts of myself, the technical and the creative, have the unique power to compliment each other. My creative side is able draw on my technical side to stay organized and in order to follow the rules of good writing. My technical side is aided by my creative side because creative solutions are important even in technical situations.My varied educational and vocational experiences have given me a variety of basic skills that carry across many different types of careers. My five years working at Target have given me great communication and customer service skills which will make me a valuable asset in a client-focused environment like a help desk. While at Target, I spent much of my time working in the electronics department and gained experience in communicating with people about a subject they often don’t know a lot about. My training in many different kinds of writing because of my education and my time working at a real estate appraisal firm have give me the ability to communicate well through the written word in a variety of different situations.Currently, I am looking for an opportunity to use my personal experience in computers and my CompTIA A+ Certification to enter the Information Technology field. I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge and expertise in computers as I grow in this field.Education: Bachelors of Art in English with a concentration in Professional Writing.40 hours of CompTIA A+ education through CBT Nuggets studying a range of computer subjects including hardware, networking, operating systems, and security.
