Queensland Commodity Exports (QCE) is the woodchip exporter located at the Port of Brisbane. It is a subsidiary company (90%) of ASX Listed Midway Limited ASX:MWY, and (10%) GrainCorp Limited ASX:GNC.QCE exports up to 400,000 tons per annum of premium grade woodchips, sourced from local processors / plantation owners within southern Queensland and northern NSW.As Manager I was responsible for management of the business unit, with executive accountability to the QCE Board of Directors. Responsibilities:• Full management of the business unit with annual turnover of $25 Mil and achieving annual profits greater than $3.5Mil. • Sales and marketing with export customers (Japan and China), either through trading houses, or direct, including international marketing trips.• Management of procurement and supply of raw materials; including logistics, processing, storage and loading of product.• Negotiation, development and management of sales/supply contracts with a value up to $10 Mil.• Led staff, teams and site contractors to ensure that business objectives were met.• Development of P&L budgets for the business unit and management of the business to exceed budget forecasts.• Undertake forecasts and cashflow management with full responsibility for business expenditure. • Negotiation and ongoing relationship management with critical stakeholders including Government agencies, Port of Brisbane, suppliers, customers and shareholders.• Led Company external accreditation and ongoing compliance against AS/NZS 4801 (Safety), ISO9001 (Quality) and FSC.• Development of capital projects up to $1Mil, including proposals, tenders and negotiations with proponents.• Led the repairs and maintenance function, including planning and management of contractors.• Preparation of insurances and annual renewals, including tenders.
