I am a student at Texas A&M University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology. I have a strong interest and passion for additive manufacturing, especially binder jetting, and its applications in various industries. I have recently completed an eight-month research assistant position at Texas A&M University, where I produced and tested ceramic samples using binder jetting technology for filtration systems.As a research assistant, I applied my knowledge of strength of materials to vary the compaction ratios of the layers to modify the behavior of the ceramic. I also performed mechanical tests, porosity measurements, and density calculations on the samples, and analyzed the results using statistical methods.Recently I have been working on my senior capstone design project where my teammates and myself are designing a modular racing wheelchair. Voted project manager, I have implemented several management techniques to monitor performance and efficacy of the team. Additionally, I have delegated tasks to individuals and assisted in their completion to ensure the project is proceeding according to schedule. The wheelchair itself consists of several off the shelf items such as a coil over suspension system as well as 26” wheels. However, the chassis, seat, and handle bars are custom designed to fit our customers needs. Developing a wheelchair for complex disabilities can be very challenging but our team’s expertise in mechanical design has changed a previously daunting task into an amazing learning experience. I am eager to learn more about additive manufacturing and its potential for innovation and sustainability. I believe that I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as well as a strong work ethic, curiosity, and creativity.
