Project Manager - Corporate Review Of Who'S Ebola Response PerformanceWorld Health Organization Nov 2015 - May 2016Geneva, SwitzerlandLed the corporate review of WHO's response to the 2013-15 West Africa Ebola outbreak. This project included designing the review methodology and tools to assess performance against the original and updated outbreak response objectives. The review assessed all areas of WHO's response: operations, logistics, government support, vaccine development, management, leadership, communications, partner relations. The review included interviews with over 100 members of staff and relevant partner and government organizations.The project included field trips to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone - the most affected countries - as well as to WHO's Africa Regional Office in Congo Brazzaville.The outcome of the review was a series of recommendations addressing all core areas relevant to WHO's response capabilities, including structure, management, process and behaviours. The purpose of these recommendations was to improve WHO and its partners' performance in future emergencies. -
Senior Advisor To Assistant Director General, Polio & EmergenciesWorld Health Organization Oct 2013 - May 2015Geneva Area, SwitzerlandLed WHO’s Polio ‘Legacy Planning’ and served as Vice-Chair of the multi-partner GPEI Legacy Management Group. This included the development of a strategic framework to guide governments and organizations in repurposing their investments in polio eradication: over 28,000 personnel, US$ 12 billion invested.Strengthened GPEI executive management performance through transformation of coordination, accountability and decision-making processes, as secretary to the Polio Steering Committee. This included designing and implementing a Risk Register, transforming the initiative’s approach to risk management.Served as WHO's focal point for the Polio Oversight Board of Directors, coordinating all WHO input and drafting and presenting papers at the Board meetings.Published lessons learned from over 25 years of polio eradication efforts in the Journal of Infectious Diseases. As de-facto Polio Chief of Staff, I coordinated cross-organizational implementation of the GPEI Strategic Plan. -

Operations Management, Affordable Medicines Facility For Malaria (Amfm)The Global Fund Jan 2009 - May 2012Geneva Area, SwitzerlandOperations management of the team that implemented the AMFm financing mechanism as a new business line. This involved the integration of the AMFm as a new business line into existing Global Fund architecture, including the development of all related corporate policies and the governance and oversight structures. I developed a Risk Management framework for AMFm and a communications strategy. I served as the Global Fund Board and donor focal point for AMFm. I also worked to develop funding proposals, helping to mobilize US$ 216 million for the AMFm. Whilst in this position I also worked on separate initiatives including the development of a business proposal for financing Maternal, Newborn and Child Health investments, and chairing recruitment panels. -
