We started trading in 2002 and became a Ltd company in 2005. Prior to this I had worked for a number of different companies. Following my degree in Nottingham I spent time at an engineering consultancy. Undertaking topographic survey, measured building surveys and setting out. This lead to an opportunity to work for The Ordnance Survey in their London office. Main task were updating 1:1250 digital mapping and undertaking Land Registry survey requests. This lead on to an opportunity to work for an oil and gas exploration company. This took me to Turkmenistan, Algeria, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It was a real thrill to work in these places as a land surveyor and something I will never forget. I moved to the Channel Islands to work for a land surveying consultancy for a short period before moving back to Cornwall and starting my own company. Which I thoroughly enjoy to this day. My reputation is everything to me. I would like to think that all of my clients have come to depend on my surveys to be accurate, concise and good value for money. I look add value to their companies and see my relationship with my clients as integral to the company’s success.I have been a member of a team tasked with monitoring the movement of Mount Etna on Sicily. My first expedition was in 1993. The methods used back then were precise leveling, triangulation and trilateration. Once GPS became more affordable and usable these methods were phased out. I have been on 5 subsequent expeditions to ascertain inflation and deflation and whether there is any correlation between this movement and eruptions.Currently I offer my clients topographic land surveys, measured building surveys, deformation monitoring and volume calculation. We are able to offer 3D laser scanning. 3D laser scanning is something we have heavily invested in over the years. We were early adopters of this technology and it is now an integral service in how we produce our surveys. We also saw the potential of drones to assist us in how we capture geospatial data and over the past years we have developed a reputation for supplying georeferenced drone deliverables. Such as high resolution ortho-rectified imagery, 3D point clouds and DSM data.I like to think I offer a service that provides first and foremost accurate geospatial data but in addition to this I am someone who loves being a land surveyor. My enthusiasm is hopefully captured in my posts and this passion for what I do is what drives me forward and continually motivates me to produce good work.
