Meyer Shipping Agencies, BERMUDA(May 2011 – November 2013)Position: Ship Agent, Maritime Operations Responsibilities Include:• Coordinate the arrival and sailing times with the ship's schedule, synchronizing vendor requests, arrival dates and needs or directions from the pilot or captain;• Point of contact for all stakeholders, crew and port authorities, serving as the ship's main liaison while in port;• Knowledge of all shipping regulations for all ports, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations, safety practices and policies of the ship's owner;• Confirm Pilots + Tugboats and Berth, to ensure vessel has no delays on arrival. Communicate any delays with vessel management and Meyer freight department where necessary;• Ensuring the Captain, vessel and her crew have all necessary services while in port and any requested provisions for sailing;• Communication and logistics between Vessel, Owner (management) to ensure all services and requests are dealt with before vessels arrival or in a timely manner;• Provide signatures on behalf of vessel to service providers or request Captains signature for services rendered. And endorsement of documents such as Bill of Lading when necessary;• Create Final DA (disbursement account) to Vessel owner, management for services/ goods rendered;• Attending passing vessels offshore along with doctor for MEDIVAC of injured, sick crew.
