Currently researching and developing breakthrough technologies relating to visual readability and accessibility of computer displays.SUMMARY° Research and develop new methodologies for use in future standards & guidelines that better accommodate user needs relating to visual readability.° Author plain language documentation relating to design, color, contrast, and visual readability.° Engage the larger accessibility and design communities to conduct user testing and foster beta sites to evaluate and receive feedback regarding emerging technologies & guidelines.° Actively participate as Invited Expert of the W3C/AGWG, interactively evaluating proposed methods, guidelines, and standards with web technology and accessibility leaders.MILESTONES1) Invented APCA, the Accessible Perceptual Contrast Algorithm, a perceptually uniform, polarity and spatial frequency aware, contrast prediction model for self-illuminated displays. (patent(s) pending). - multiple reviews by independent peers, including PhD's, demonstrate that APCA provides a stable & solid foundation for use in contrast guidelines. - APCA is presently undergoing public beta testing, and finding significant pre-release adoption by developers and designers.2) Interactively developed and evaluated proposed design guidelines within the AGWG Visual Contrast group, in conjunction and with oversight of accessibility leaders and select members of the design & dev communities. - guidelines are directly derived from established peer-reviewed research & scientific consensus, including that of Lovie-Kitchin et alia, Legge et alia, and others (see bib) - guidelines developed relate to text and non-text elements, with an emphasis on accessible readability on self-illuminated displays.3) Developed tools and documentation in support of the above. - Color insensitive vision simulator @ myndex.com/CVD/ - APCA contrast calculator @ myndex.com/APCA/ - Documentation catalog @ git.myndex.com

Inclusive Reading Technologies is a California nonprofit dedicated to improving visual accessibility across all technologies. IRT is pushing the envelope on cutting edge perceptually uniform, accurate color models, enhancing the user experience.Milestones:• Creation of the APCA Readability Criterion, an independent standard for visual accessibility, and design guidance for digital content creators.• Develop and deploy the APCA Readability Criterion website (public draft) at readtech.org/ARC/
