I am an experienced Chartered Accountant who specialises in assisting people with difficult accounting situations including lease accounting and revenue recognition. I also help businesses by providing short term or part time additional finance resource. I have been involved in real world implementations of FRS 102 and FRS 101, as well as having good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards. There is always a lot of change happening in the financial reporting world and I can help you implement that change.For the last 6 years I have been involved in finance transformation projects currently for Poundland and previously with Tesco. These roles both included the implementation of Oracle Fusion and Oracle Retail (RMS), working as a Business Process Owner, an Accounting Subject Matter Expert and a Work Stream Lead. This has involved in working between technology and the finance functions to understand the accounting implication of the system change and then implementing that change in a successful way. The roles have been UK based but include working in Thailand and Europe.Previously I have been providing Head of Finance services to a portfolio of clients on a part time basis over recent years. This includes day to day accounting, implementing restructuring plans, coping with new parent companies, new acquisitions and exiting businesses, including voluntary liquidations. As Head of Finance I work closely with CEOs, report to client Boards and Shareholders as well as managing finance teams. This work can include monthly management reporting, financial statement production, resolving accounting issues. I have also covered periods where senior finance staff are changing. I have also been training people in accounting standards and audit for over a decade and can provide bespoke training for finance functions of all sectors. I am a freelance presenter for BPP and the ICAEW Academy as well as delivering courses for the ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA. I also deliver courses for finance functions for companies directly. I am experienced in working and delivering training either remotely or in person. My portfolio of work ranges from technical accounting, through commercial accounting, to interim Finance Director roles. My sector experience is broad and my recent work has been in the retail sector, professional services and education. I have worked with FTSE100 companies, private equity backed businesses, large international groups and privately owned businesses.
