About Andrew Pullin
It began as a simple desire to work with numbers – and to earn some money! Fifteen years later and my experience as a qualified management accountant has taught me that finance is no longer simply ‘bean counting’. In fact, numbers form a small part of an overall story, whether in investment banking in Dublin, Zurich and the UK, or business partnering with clinicians in the NHS. I see my role as narrator; to communicate the story to the audience, be it boards of directors or lower level budget holders, through effective value adding management information (MI). Adding value means understanding the needs of your clients, and this is what drives me as a finance professional. My passion is engaging with my internal clients and translating their requirements into insightful reporting. I've delivered this in large global organisations with multiple locations and divisions and always by collaborating with partners in IT or operations. Delivering quality finance involves the 'buy in' from all areas of an organisation. I see my core skills as being in the following areas:- Seeing the bigger picture when reporting MI while maintaining attention to detail- Communicating with stakeholders at all levels- Leadership and influencing, both to my reports and those above me- Problem solving- Adaptability: I’ve lived and worked in global locations and have the ability to handle changing situationsBesides work and being a father to twin daughters, I have a long list of interests I try to give time to, including managing my own share portfolio (with mixed results!), travelling, astronomy, creative writing, supporting Tottenham Hotspur, weight training and golf (absolute beginner..). What I would say is that I approach each aspect of my life as I do my work: with passion and commitment. For anyone who would like to connect about any of the above feel free to drop me a line.
