Working on a research project under Dr. Mike Moats, evaluating the selective extraction and stripping of antimony and bismuth in copper electrorefining electrolyte by a solvent extraction chemical developed by BASF.Experimentation includes small-scale batch testing and continuous pilot-plant testing. Built and operated pilot plants for a solvent extraction circuit and a copper electrorefining cell.

Working as a research assistant gives me the chance to apply my knowledge from courses to real-world research projects. I am expected to work effectively on my own or in a group in order to complete projects that consist of multiple elements, including design, fabrication, testing, compilation of data and creation of presentations.

During my time at Price Chopper, I developed critical employability skills such as time management, punctuality, decision-making under pressure, and teamwork abilities. I also learned to properly communicate with both coworkers and customers in a friendly and professional manner.

As a member of the Frame and Suspension Team, I learned to safely operate machinery while designing and constructing a working vehicle for a national competition. Efficient time and budget management were necessities, as there were constantly problems that needed to be solved and strict deadlines to meet.
