I grew up on a family farm, where hard work, taking responsibility and looking out for each other was instilled from a young age. Chipping in was essential, whether it be milking the house cow, feeding poddy calves and lambs, looking after the pigs or the menagerie of poultry. I learnt life-long values around you “reap what you sow”, especially in regards to the more you care and nurture, the better the outcome.In my mid-thirties, I was knocked for six having contracted a debilitating condition "ulcerative colitis", which resulted in 5 major operations over a 2 year period. We had 2 children at that stage, an eight year old daughter and one year old son and a further brother joined the brood within two years. Of most concern at the time, was how would my wife cope with 2 young children and then how would we cope with 2 young children. Income protection insurance was our saviour allowing us to keep our lives together financially whilst working at the nurturing and healing process to keep our dreams alive.As life has thrown curve balls at me, I have found my experience lends itself to taking it in my stride, growing and learning from the experience. I have very strong self- belief in myself with a resilient character. This translates to me naturally supporting and nurturing people to grow and develop to achieve the outcomes they desire.I consider it a privilege and responsibility to provide my experience and knowledge to anyone that can benefit from it. It is extremely exciting to be in an environment supportive of this objective.With like-minded and complementary skilled individuals, this assistance to others is being delivered through helping as many people as possible that are prepared to ask for help.

As a trustee, it was heartbreaking to see clients believing they were diversified when invested in five managed funds which were all invested in similar assets.
