With part of my role being office based I cross checked faults I found against the relevant standards for correctional time scales. I used network rail software systems to create/close work orders, kept asset data current and analyse data from track recording trains to cross reference it with previous inspection data for trend monitoring. Liaising with different sub-teams in company to plan work and correct maintenance procedures. As part of my job being a senior task supervisor and Responsible person on site. I was regularly responsible for setting up worksites with complex switching and protection arrangements. Supervising work groups under possession worksites and being responsible for their safety in the confines of the operational railway. I had to have safety critical phone conversations with signallers, relaying information on safety arrangements back and forth precisely. Other aspects and responsibilities include fault finding, detailed inspections of Switches & Crossings including high speed swing nose crossings, and the majority of other track infrastructure including a selection of critical measurements and maintenance. I analysed inspection data to foresee future deterioration and planned maintenance and renewals through a computer based system called Oracle. I checked specific faults against the standards and determined the recommended time scales to complete repairs or renewal. Keeping the high speed route operational all year round I was trialling and developing advanced video software to inspect plain line to save on the cost of man powered inspections in the future. I spent 3 years working at this maintenance depot whilst studying, attending courses and gaining my qualifications. I build up valuable experience with all sections and gained vast knowledge of how the infrastructure works as a whole. My knowledge was being supported by the railway engineering qualifications I was gaining through my studies.

Working in a sporting goods mega store built up and developed my customer service and communication skills from a young age. I learnt the art of sales and reaching targets. Carrying out many different roles in the store, drove my work ethic.
