I have 30 years of technical experience as an Engineering Leader and Engineer in the Financial Services and Telecommunication domains, where I developed a strong interest and expertise in low latency Front Office trading systems, resilience and scalable technologies involved in processing large volumes of data. I have worked for companies including Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, EADS/Airbus and Nortel. I am currently interested in technologies which batch or stream process, store and communicate large volumes of data such as Apache Spark, Flink, Samza, Cassandra, Redshift, Kafka, RabbitMQ or technologies which scale outwards like REDIS and including scaling older technologies such as Postgres, MariaDB, MySQL.I am very active with technical meetup groups both being an organiser of several, and a presenter at many others - mostly on Data Engineering technologies.
