The Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (OVDL) provides essential diagnostic services and conducts research to support animal health. As part of Oregon State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, OVDL plays a pivotal role in advancing veterinary medicine and ensuring the well-being of animals.This role is a grant-funded position focusing on enhancing preparedness for incidents involving foreign animal diseases (FAD). Responsibilities include developing and implementing emergency operations plans, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen response capabilities.Job Responsibilities:- Led multiple functional exercises as the exercise director.- Conducted Tabletop exercises and facilitated hotwashes for lab staff and administrators.- Carried out risk and hazard assessments.- Participated in State-wide Foreign Animal Disease tabletops and workshops.- Developed emergency operations plans and procedures.- Wrote grants for USDA Farm Bill grants and other funding opportunities.Other Activities:- Led and organized multiple safety trainings.- Served as the former Chair of the OVDL Website Design Committee.- Contributed as a member of the OVDL Safety Committee.- Participated as a member of the CCVM Safety Committee.

Assembling Type A HAZMAT equipment into CBRN kits, and participating in the teaching of incident command training given to healthcare practitioners.

Responsible for safeguarding people, buildings, and valuable items. Duties include monitoring premises, patrolling, crowd control, and radio communications.
