Following this I did extensive RDBMS work, in the form of SQL development and database administration. More recently I've focused on the design, implementation and administration of enterprise computer systems. I still do occasional software development, with Python now being my language of choice.Whilst not traditionally being the sort of person who gets evangelical about computer technology, this has changed since working with Amazon Web Services (AWS). It's good. Really good.Having spent my career working in enterprise computing and seeing the good, the bad and the ugly, AWS is a breath of fresh air. The vision, verve, excellence and all round hutzpah of its implementation is nothing short of staggering. Experienced professionals can now create and maintain highly effective and efficient computer systems with an ease and cost effectiveness that was unimaginable even a few years ago.My work now is thus primarily AWS-based.
