City Harvest London is London’s first food redistribution charity, delivering over a million meals a week to those in real need around the capital; delivering to Soup Kitchens, Food banks, Elderly care homes, schools, nurseries, social supermarkets and many more projects who are trying to help their communities in and around London. As such, City Harvest knows a lot about the many different types of need across the capital and does its best to use its resources to get the food to where it needs to go.My job is to assess, onboard and discover new charities and projects across London that City Harvest could work with, and then assess them and their needs. We then use this to build strong relationships between ourselves and the projects. I work at our flagship depot but also regularly travel to our projects to learn about their amazing work and see for myself how the food we give them helps them to run their services which is always hugely inspiring.

West Ealing

Ealing Soup Kitchen is a leading homelessness charity that serves over 400 a week and provides wrap around care for many visitors who find themselves in destitution. My job here involved managing two drop-ins: a daytime Friday Hub where clients get free clothes, haircuts, showers, entertainment and refreshments; and an evening Hub on Mondays, the only evening drop-in in Ealing; where we provided hot meals, a GP service and often 'Music club Mondays' where a performer comes to play for the guests. We also provide a weekend Soup Kitchen which has been running since 1973 and now serves on average 70 people a day.Under my leadership, we opened Ealing's first evening drop-in (which doubled in use in 12 months) and a new, vital shower facility for our clients to use.As part of my role I also provide the clients with advocacy in the form of benefits/council/housing help, friendship & a sense of community. My other duties include public speaking and networking concerning homelessness & the charity, running all social media accounts, fundraising, running events, organising trips away for the guests & many other ad hoc duties such as visiting infirm clients, assisting guests with various life help & facilitating groups & individuals wishing to either volunteer or do projects within our charity.

West Ealing

The Ealing IAPT Service provides primary care (low level) psychological therapies (such as counselling , CBT, wellness courses) for people over 18 who have a GP in the London Borough of Ealing.My duties during my time here included: - PA to business manager (using Excel & Outlook & phones a lot) - 'site supervisor' - travelling to three different sites and working alongside every staff member in the IAPT team regularly, (one of the only people to do so), liaising & co-ordinating with staff and management across all sites.- Receptionist - covered lunches for temporary staff, was front end for all clients & organised clients to fill in forms (PHQ9 and the like - including getting many forms translated into different languages) - Administrator - trained as a “Super User” for computer systems such as PC-MIS, IAPTUS, RiO & more. I was also part of the team responsible for changing the administration from paper to entirely digital. I had to often liase with surgeries & practice managers - often employing varied techniques to complete client profiles. Also booked client appointments over the phone, and manned our self referral call line.- Ad-hoc design - responsible for some localised ad campaign design, and designed several booklets for stress and anxiety patients. Other IT programs used: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Outlook.
