I work directly with the Speaker of the House to develop policy and identify issues with proposed legislation. In addition, I work with members of the legislature, lobbyists, constituents, and other stakeholders on proposed legislation. I also review and summarize proposed legislation and offer legal advice on the legislation and suggest amendments if warranted. I also draft bills, amendments, and resolutions.

I attended committee meetings, reviewed bills, and drafted analysis reports for the committees. I also conducted research projects for various legislators, and I reviewed and edited a quadrennial publication of the Institute.

Constitutional Defense Division - Conducted legal research for BP oil spill litigation, Alabama’s redistricting plans, and state regulation of abortion clinics; Conducted 50-state surveys on election laws for absentee voters; Drafted answers to complaints.Consumer Protection Division – Conducted legal research on false claims and advertisements as well as FTC standards; Drafted complaints; Drafted Data Breach law to be considered for the Attorney General’s legislative agenda.

Conducted independent research on the Florida Retirement System; Drafted memos; Worked on public records requests; Assisted in preparation for litigation.

Managed a team of over 80 employees; dealt with customer complaints; balanced daily cash amounts; dealt with scheduling issues, organized orders of up to 3000 meals; was part of the management team that saw a sales increase of over 20% in one year.

I assisted a professor of political science in teaching American Government to approximately 300 students. My responsibilities included creating tests, quizzes, handling make-up assignments, lecturing on occasion, and dealing with most everyday student issues in place of the professor.

I assisted in implementing the Virtual Alabama School Safety System, by mapping out safety equipment in schools throughout the state, scheduling meetings with local school officials, first responders, and Department of Homeland security. The Virtual Alabama program has gone on to receive national recognition, and led the way for a Virtual USA. I assisted in the implementation of this program in pretty much all aspects of it.

My responsibilities included ensuring that The Auburn Plainsman was delivered across campus to various buildings. This included having after-hours access to secured buildings.

As an Intern in the Governor's policy office, I assisted in the review of proposed legislation as well as in making recommendations for the governor to sign or veto legislation. I also assisted in research projects for various state agencies as well as dealt with constituents.
