The lab engineers new genetic regulatory proteins and create novel genetic regulatory circuits, with an aim to make biology more engineerable at its most fundamental levels. I worked on developing genetic memory operations to facilitate synthetic genetic logic, something like fundamental work towards the next generation of cell therapies.• Discovered a novel strategy for controlling genetic memory operations.• Designed, built and optimized synthetic genetic circuits using modern molecular biology skills.• Executed in vivo experiments to quantify custom genetic regulatory component performance and test engineering hypotheses.• Collaborated with teams to generate high-impact research publications.• Mentored trainee graduate students and undergraduate researchers.• Wrote lab manual to facilitate training and democratize specialized lab knowledge.• Delivered technical presentations for a broad range of audiences.

Developed a biodegradable sorbent material for oil spill remediation using atomic layer deposition.Designed experimental protocols to quantify sorbent performance, and trained a team of undergraduate researchers to run said protocols.Attained two President's Undergraduate Research Award grants to fund the team's research.Won the 2018 Georgia Tech COE Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher of the Year for this work.
