Managing noise, vibration and air quality for AlignJV, delivering contract C1 on HS2 Phase 1, including the Colne Valley Viaduct and Chiltern Tunnels.

With over 14 years’ experience as an acoustic consultant, Andrew has been involved in the planning, design and construction of major transport and infrastructure projects in both client and contractor roles. Andrew has managed large teams of acoustics consultants during his time on these projects and been responsible and accountable for significant noise and vibration deliverables and commitments, including the production of EIA and DCO material for Heathrow and undertakings and assurances for Crossrail. Andrew also has construction noise experience on HS2, Thames Tideway, Thameslink and Melbourne Metro. Andrew has produced numerous expert reports and proofs of evidence for criminal and civil proceedings, including Crown Court Hearings and a high-profile construction nuisance case.Andrew is a natural public speaker and has considerable experience of public consultations and stakeholder engagement. This includes producing, presenting and defending technical and non-technical advice and consultation materials to a wide range of audiences including the DfT, MPs, Local Authorities, Public Health England, high profile stakeholders and members of the public.

Andrew worked on a wide range of projects at ARM including infrastructure, rail, planning, expert witness and noise control. Andrew was seconded to Crossrail during this time as well as supporting the business on other work including noise modelling, producing S61 consents, producing expert witness evidence and business development.

Andrew delivered both architectural and environmental acoustic design advice for clients ranging from MOD Defence Estates to transport infrastructure. During this time Andrew was responsible for business development, coaching junior staff, facilitating client engagement, project management and acoustic modelling. 2 month secondment to project manage fixed plant noise assessments. This involved;producing tracker documents compiling results across all central sites;writing a standardised assessment report template; anddrafting the fixed plant contractors contracts.

Andrew joined Acoustic Consultants Limited as a junior consultant whilst finishing the final weeks of his degree course. He was promoted to consultant after 3 months and was involved in a wide variety of both architectural and environmental acoustics projects across the UK.
