I am a Regional Safety Team Leader for Toyota North America, overseeing construction health and safety teams in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, on projects with a total value of $15-$20 Billion. My duties include: management consulting, process and policy development and implementation, team member engagement and mentoring, as well as management system maintenance and continuous improvement, which affects the livelihood and safety of more than 170,000 Team Members and contractors across North America. My primary goal is to ensure that Team Members and contractors go home safely to their families at the end of each work day! I am a subject matter expert in: Toyota Business Practice (TBP), 5-why and Root Cause Analysis, problem-solving everyday and complex problems, and Toyota's Construction Safety Management System. In addition to working full-time, I am also a part-time student, enrolled in the Juris Doctor/Master in Environmental Studies programs at Osgoode Hall Law School/York University. Outside of work and school, I have been a community advocate and volunteer for nearly 30 years. While I am always cognizant of problems and problem-solving methods, I am consistently steadfast in my commitment to be solution focused through logical, common sense, step-by-step thinking! It is one thing to identify problems, but real leadership comes in to solve problems!!
