TACT (The Adolescent and Children’s Trust) is the UK’s largest fostering and adoption charity and voluntary agency. Established for 25 years, we currently have over 600 foster carers providing loving homes for over 600 children and young people.As a charity everything we do is for the benefit of children in care and on the fringes of care. We are beyond profit, which means that all surplus income is invested back into our services to ensure our carers and the children in our care receive the best possible support. We also regularly campaign on behalf of vulnerable children, seeking to influence public policy and argue for positive changes.We have twelve local offices across England, Wales and Scotland, each with a friendly, professional and experienced team who are dedicated to ensuring that as a TACT foster carer you receive the support you need, whenever you need it, regardless of where you are in the country.

As a member of the steering group:-provide guidance and direction to the EYHC team-ensure the focus of work remains resolutely on ending youth homelessness-maintain oversight of the Project Plan to ensure the various elements/streams of work of EYHC are delivered and necessary connections made-provide advocacy for ending youth homelessness in Wales informed by the work of EYHC I also chair the LGBTQ+ Task & Finish group which aims to:provide End Youth Homelessness Cymru’s Steering Group with a clear position on what needs to change in Wales for homelessness to be prevented for young LGBTQ+ people and what needs to change for young LGBTQ+ people who do become homeless to be guaranteed the support they need to move on quickly and effectively from homelessness services.

I have led a transformation in profile, structure and financial sustainability. Acting as the public face of Stonewall in Wales in the media, with heads of businesses, charities, government and supporters. Leading communications, fund raising, income generation, campaigns, major project management and policy development.  Spearheading community engagement with thousands of people from a wide range of backgrounds, communities and experience. Contributing to the overall corporate development of Stonewall as a member of the Stonewall GB Senior Management Team.

The expert panel was established in March 2017 by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams to help inform the development of the future Sex and Relationships (SRE) curriculum as part of the Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning Experience (AoLE). The panel were asked to identify issues and opportunities which could inform decisions around supporting the teaching profession deliver high quality SRE in schools more effectively

The BIHR will be drafting a joint civil society shadow report with respect to the UN Universal Periodic Review, as part of a broader project funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.The steering group will bring knowledge and expertise to inform the development of the project and ensure maximum engagement with civil society organisations in England, Scotland and Wales. They will also guide, monitor and review the preparation and finalisation of the shadow report.
