I managed the content and brand for the School of Pharmacy's web properties, including websites, blog, and campus Elm website. I maintained and regularly updated information through the CMS for the various departments, centers, programs, and 90+ faculty members at the School. I also served as the primary writer for the web.

In addition to my previous responsibilities, I took on new roles in leading the head office communications, advising the ZAMPHIA survey communications team, and supervising a regional communications specialist.

I provided communications support to the head office and eight international country offices at the Center for International Health, Education, and Biosecurity (Ciheb).Ciheb is an international health, education, and research center at the Institute of Human Virology within the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Ciheb's mission is to improve the human condition globally and has a substantial track record in HIV research, prevention, and care in sub-Saharan Africa.I supported communications for two population-based impact assessments (PHIAs). In Botswana, I assisted the Fifth Botswana AIDS Impact Survey (BAIS V) through the writing, design, editing, and production of a weekly bulletin sent to more than 600 staff. In Zambia, I was part of the Zambia Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA) communications team.I am well-versed in distilling complex material on global health topics into public-facing web articles, social media posts, and communications products including email newsletters, technical briefs, and graphics. I also formatted and designed numerous reports submitted to donors, ministries of health, and other governmental agencies.

In this role for the Macromolecules Innovation Institute at Virginia Tech, I led communications for the interdisciplinary science and engineering institute. My communications responsibilities included writing press releases to translate scientific discoveries to broad audiences, transitioning the institute’s website to a new CMS, connecting with campus stakeholders and alumni through social media platforms (Twitter and LinkedIn), and other multi-media work like photography and graphic design. In addition, I became a skilled event planner through the organization of a 200-person conference, an annual 30-person workshop, a seminar series, and two prestigious university-wide lectures.

I handled all internal and external communications for the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Music. Communications responsibilities included managing the website, developing a biannual newsletter, connecting with stakeholders on social media, and creating new promotional documents.

As a freelancer with the New & Observer, I assisted in coverage for the high school sports section, Preps Now. I covered football, basketball, baseball and more throughout the Triangle.

"The State of Things" was a live talk show that aired during the weekday lunch hour and covered the news and personalities of North Carolina. As a producer with WUNC, I oversaw segments from idea to broadcast covering anything from breaking political news to music acts. Other duties with the station included digital writing, spot reporting, social media, and directing the show.
