Overview: Leads a team to develop research and education opportunities in earth, ecology, and environmental sciences with focus dedicated to climate resilience, environmental justice, and community based participatory research. Key Responsibilities:• Lead the “Science Shop” initiative, a community based participatory research focused model of engagement and research focused on lead exposure and climate resilience in historically disadvantaged communities. Funded by NOAA and IMLS grant programs. • Develop research methodologies focused on urban ecology, biodiversity, and climate resilience to pursue grant and foundation-based funding opportunities. • Actively builds relationships with community-based organizations, researchers, and engaged community members to create novel research programs. Achievements:• Awarded the FY 2024 NOAA Marine Debris Challenge Competition grant to perform research on microplastics in terrestrial ecosystems and develop an education and research focused coalition of community-based organizations focused on marine debris in the six watersheds in the Philadelphia region. • Developed the rECOnnect event series focused on bringing naturalists, researchers, and ecology and environmental science focused professionals together for networking, bioblitz, and other engagement opportunities. • Instituted a dynamic project management system to track ongoing projects, grant management and pursuit, and outreach across departments.

Overview: Led an outreach-based engagement program focused on redeveloping brownfields and municipal priorities supporting economic development strategy, job creation, and former industrial site remediation. Key Responsibilities:• Manage a public/private sector coalition-based initiative focused on pursuing and managing federal, state, and local funding opportunities for redeveloping brownfields. • Maintain relationships with municipal leaders across a two-county region in eastern Pennsylvania through ongoing outreach and engagement. • Assisted with developing key communication, marketing, and strategy pieces for the organization. Achievements:• Successfully won $1.5M in grant funding. • Featured speaker at 14 local, regional, and national conferences and events including the 2015 National Brownfields Conference. • Manage and organize the Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley with members representing the innovation, coworking, start-up, co-op, and maker spaces to coordinate a cooperative and regional entrepreneurial effort.

Procured $1000 of donated plant material for experimentation.
